So my Parenting Strategy™ regarding teaching the real intangible life lessons, like, not getting addicted to playing video games, has been to try to teach underlying skills that are a little more basic, like good time management and listening to your body when it needs to eat/sleep/move around and that your brain needs lots of different kinds of stimulus. How doing something leads to the consequences of doing that thing, so if you feel yucky, work backwards and figure out if you can fix it by changing your behavior, that kind of thing. So far, it’s been going pretty good!

Except when she catches me out in my own less-than-stellar behaviours, haha. Well… at least I know she’s learning…
