Fun realizations to hit you when you’re minding your own business: statistically, I’m closer to buying pads and tampons for Momo than am to the last time I bought her diapers.

Yeah. A real ‘let that sink in’ moment.

I have no idea how I’m going to handle this when it happens – which, again, statistically, could be any day now. We’ve tried to talk about puberty as a natural fact of life, ‘something that will happen to you later’, but I don’t think it’s really explainable to a child in a way that’ll stick for good, something that will happen to them. Or, maybe, it’ll be no big deal. Who can say.
