One more holiday-themed comic from me on this, the last day of my holiday break, as I with great regret again turn on my morning alarm. It’s me, the Ghost of The Christmas Happening Right Now, and I’m not ready to shuffle on.

Like I mentioned in the last comic, it’s been one hell of a year, so consequently I clung as hard as I could to the holiday magic. I’m happy to report that all of the cheerful marionetting of all the little fussy moving parts that constitute that holiday magic went absolutely, well, magically, and for the first time in literally every one of Momo’s eleven years on this good Earth we pulled off a Christmas that was every bit as wonderful for everyone as a goddamn Hallmark movie.

It’s still a lot of work, and in past years it definitely felt like it wasn’t a lot of thanks or good memories in return for how stressed out and angry it made me. I think that’s the experience of a lot of mothers – all you have to do is check the mom-centric subreddits in December to see how unbalanced the labour is around the holidays. There’s often no magic for moms – just more work.

If that was you this year, I see you. You’re in this comic. And I hope that the Ghost of Christmas Future shows you a better one next year. <3
