So, it turns out, when your kid is old enough to roam the neighbourhood in the summer without you cramping her style, she develops the kind of tan (and associated leg bruises/bug bites) that makes anyone over a certain age sigh with nostalgia for ‘having a really great summer.’

I genuinely didn’t think anyone who crawled outta my gene pool could tan!!

I’m an obligate indoor cat, while Kev works outside no matter the weather. Until now, Momo’s mostly had to hang out indoors with me in the summer, except for day camps and the occasional weeklong – never quite enough to catch up with dad. It’s with their great pride that they share this photo of them finally, after twelve years, matching skin tones:
