True things said to or about me, babysitting edition.

Funny, it’s almost as if there’s an unattainable standard of motherhood that I’m constantly being measured against. But that can’t be true, right? We live in a post-sexist society, after all.

Being an artist means, surprise, I need time to not only do the art, but to attend conventions and networking events, so I rely on a lot of daycare and babysitting for things that don’t look like ‘work’. Because becoming a parent shouldn’t, like, change me at all, right? Being cool and accessible and successful should obviously be top priority. But not so much that it looks like I don’t care about my kid, because that’s my true calling as a woman. Obviously.

If you like my comics, consider becoming a patron! I do one comic a week plus a few illustrations, and even pledging a dollar a picture keeps gas in the bus for more.
