Last week, my tiny human turned one, accompanied by a flurry of sudden development. In just the span of a few weeks, she learned how to walk, say a few simple words (hi, hey, cat), can respond to certain verbal cues (how big is Momo? THIIIS BIIIG), give hugs, cuddle, play with the cat, and even play a few games.

The usual thing to say at this point is ‘I can’t believe it! I’m not ready!“ but the truth is, I am ready. Having a baby was difficult, thankless, exhausting work. Having a toddler has been a joy and a delight. I love her now more than I ever have before, and when she wraps her arms around me after not seeing me for three days, I know she finally loves me back.
