This one’s for my friends who are real grown-up adults who offer to hang out with Momo for literal hours in Animal Crossing, patiently waiting while she types out messages between stealing the bells from their money trees. I’ve seen her try to net your butterflies from your museums; it’s only by the grace of the machine that she hasn’t robbed you blind.

Momo has a huge vocabulary, which is why it must be so frustrating for her to slow her mind down long enough to diligently tap out every letter. But, typing-as-communication has been great for boosting her confidence with her spelling – it removes the variable of, like, oh god, how DO you write this letter, and just lets her focus on what she’s saying, which has been helpful! And video games in general have been pretty good teaching tools during… This Whole Thing. I’m glad she’s taken so well to them.
